In Victoria, BC I have the privilege of living in immense natural beauty everyday. The sights of the ocean, foliage, and sky inspire me to paint. Influenced by Impressionism, I use the everchanging light and colour in the outdoor environment as my subject matter. Working on this series, I discovered that unpacking the visual world around me also unveiled an internal world - joy, tranquility, and hidden moments of humour lie within these paintings.
